Introduction
The department of Sindhi was established
in 1972. It started with a master's program only, but later on Honours,
certificate and diploma programs were also introduced.
The department of Sindhi has been
actively contributing towards production of research and academic
Literature by organizing seminars and conferences from time to time.
These events result in production of valuable literature in the form
of monographs and books launched on such occasions. The department
also plans to launch a quarterly Research Journal very soon to bring
into lime light research in and on Sindhi language and literature. Besides,
the department also organizes excursions for students to various
historical places for their close first hand interaction with history
thus giving students a chance to triangulate their knowledge from books,
observations and their own interaction.

The graduates find various openings
of their career including teaching at Secondary, Higher Secondary and
Higher Educational Institutions, with a boom in media industry, now
they also join various electronic and print media outlets.
